The 15 greatest films of all time
Posted in Film reviews by amte on October 25, 2009
This list is shaped, of course, by my outlook and the conditions and time in which I was born and raised. The following are listed in no particular order:
Rounders
City of God
Casino
Goodfellas
Harlan County, U.S.A.
Bound For Glory
Reds
Fidel: The Untold Story
Scarface
House of Flying Daggers
Shaolin Chastity Kung Fu
Memoirs of a Geisha
Kabei: Our Mother
Blow
The trailers don’t do these films justice. If you haven’t seen them, I recommend doing so.

Nice list of pics but no Lone Star or Matewan?
I don’t think the “moral of the story” of the film Matewan matches up with the lessons workers should take from the real struggles it’s based on. For that reason, I don’t recommend the movie.
As for Lone Star.. I don’t think it’s a good film let alone one of the greatest. I’d be interested in learning why you think otherwise.
If there’s any film that was excluded from this list it is “Blue Collar.”
I never made a list like that. Mine would have 1900, Land or Freedom and Schindler’s List.
